In Austin for the game on Saturday. It was an early game, 11 a.m. and sometimes the Longhorn team does not like to get up early to play. My friend Matt came up from San Antonio with his son Kyle and his friend Jackson. Tickets were good, the Craig Special. None of them had been to a UT game before so it was a special occasion.
UT got off to a good start and did not look back, winning 33-7. The half time show was memorable, commemorating Veteran's Day with a salute to all 5 services and then a tribute to Darrell Royal aka DKR who had died this week at 88.
Afterwards I took then to the new Berts BBQ and it was a good time. Food has not changed. I enjoyed being the tour guide and recommending the house specialties.
